5th Workshop on Military Applications of Underwater Glider Technology (5WMAUGT), scheduled for 13-15 November 2018

and hosted by the NATO STO Centre for Maritime Research and Experimentation (CMRE), in La Spezia (Italy).

The main objective of 5WMAUGT is to provide an opportunity for the personnel from scientific, academic, industrial and military communities to present and discuss the state-of-art developments in underwater glider technology, as well as the relevant military and civilian applications it offers and could offer in the future. Topics to be explored among the participants, include but are not limited to:

– Novel payloads and capabilities for underwater gliders

– Passive acoustic capabilities for underwater glider

– Sustained monitoring and surveillance of marine regions

– Glider operations in high latitude regions

– Maritime environmental characterization

– Underwater glider network

– Integration of glider fleets in naval operations

– Exploitation in Maritime Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (MISR) activities

– Interoperable ways for Tasking underwater gliders, and for Processing, Exploiting and Disseminating the Collected data/information (TCPED interoperability)

Please note that the workshop will be held at NATO UNCLASSIFIED security level and that it is limited to the nationals of the NATO member countries, as well as Australia, Austria, Finland, New Zealand, Sweden and Switzerland.
